Shorted

A movie’s individual “awards” page on IMDB is an invaluable record of the contemporaneous reception.

Unsurprisingly, Academy Award nominations top the page.

And yet, despite this obvious pride of place, why is there no mention of when a movie makes a shortlist, but ultimately doesn’t nab one of the five nominations?

If the Oscars are the head honcho, then appearing on a shortlist is as close as you can get to that mountaintop, without an actual nomination.

Oh, AND I’d note if a movie was a country’s submission to the International category, even if it wasn’t shortlisted.

Technically, all of this information can be found on a movie’s IMDB “trivia” page…but my request still stands.
