Come for John Williams, stay for Steven Spielberg’s home movies. 

The new biodoc Music by John Williams includes a bevy of behind-the-scenes footage of their collaborations, all labeled as “Steven Spielberg’s home movies.” 

The fact that this footage spans decades means that, effectively, The Berg has been filming a documentary about his career for his entire life.

The Fabelmans is all fine and dandy as a narrow and fictionalized moving-image autobiography…but can you imagine if he edited together his oeuvre-encompassing home movies into a full-length documentary?

And what if he then gave all of his raw footage to an established documentarian to cut together a more objective version…

The world can dream.
