It’s time for another dispatch regarding Cinema 123’s continued survival.

Previously, I interpreted the forever-broken escalator’s recent revival as a sign that Angelika was investing in the theater, curbing my fear of a land-sale to a knockdown buyer.

And now, Angelika has given us another sign of commitment.

Auditorium 1 has long been one of the premiere houses in the city, even though there was a black line streaking vertically down the right side of the screen.

Emphasis on was, because guess what’s no longer there! The screen is back to spotlessness!

And why would Angelika put up the funds for a spruce-up unless the theater is here to stay?

…at least for now.

As for the Lazarusian escalator: sometimes it works, sometimes it’s back on the fritz.

That’s what we call Cinema.
