A theater becomes a travel destination for one of two reasons.
Either for the expected quality of its productions, or for the beauty of the building itself, be it historical opulence and/or a site-specific view.
But London’s Donmar Warehouse is one of the few that combines these two appeals through sheer intimacy; is there a smaller venue in the world with Broadway/West End production values?
And I’m not talking purely about capacity here; by virtue of the auditorium layout, every seat feels on top of the most famous actors.
