Hamnet isn’t 2025’s sole Hamlet-inflected flick. 

Scarlet is a remix of Hamlet in the fashion of The Lion King, but anime instead of Disney; note the similarity between the names Hamlet and Scarlet, similar to George Clooney and his meta Jay Kelly.

Nora. 

Can you say A Doll’s House?

And let’s just say Sentimental Value Nora’s relationship to her familial house overlaps substantively with that of Ibsen’s Nora.

One more thought about Scarlet: titling after a color can call our attention to the use of that color in the movie. 

And “sentimental value” being the title of Sentimental Value puts the movie in conversation with our interpretation of the concept, AND underlines what the phrase is used to describe by the characters.
