Since I’ve been writing individual posts about the good albums released recently, the following, rather miserable docket encompassing the rest may give the impression that it’s been a rough time for music of late.
Not so! These are just the ones I didn’t deem worthy of their own spotlight — most of whom are rappers I’ve never really liked in the first place — including (in descending order of quality, as always):
Kodak Black’s Heart Break Kodak
YFN Lucci’s Freda’s Son
2 Chainz’s The Play Don’t Care Who Makes It
Moneybagg Yo’s 2 Heartless
Young Dolph’s N****S Get Shot
Freda’s Son — YFN Lucci
Yawn.
The Play Don’t Care Who Makes It — 2 Chainz
Yaaaaaawn. I’ve never understood his widespread appeal.
2 Heartless — Moneybagg Yo

Wait…is anyone else having deja vu?
In the name of diversifying #content, the only sentiment I’ll add here is that I dig the cover art’s stark simplicity…but when that’s an album’s most redeeming feature, probably best to move [Jay-Z voice] on to the next one.
Which is exactly what I might do with all of Moneybagg Yo’s future albums. Even though I’ve promised to listen to every album that cracks Apple Music’s Top 30 Most Streamed List, and even though I never like closing the door of possibility on an artist improving their craft…after slogging through all of his recent releases, Moneybagg Yo may become the first musician to be excluded from Write All Nite’s annual New Year’s resolution. His music’s just not my cup of sizzurp!

Wait…is anyone else having deja vu again…AGAIN?!
While we’re here, I might as well slap an ol’ “YAAAAAWN” on N****S Get Shot just as a fitting bookend.
Sorry if this post is a bit loopy; blame it on the deja vu snoozefest that’s been this week in music up in here (up in here).
